The following liturgies are scheduled for Holy Week at
St. Joseph Cathedral:

Tuesday, March 30 – Chrism Mass

St. Joseph Cathedral7 p.m. – Bishop Kmiec, celebrant, will bless three urns of oil, the oil of catechumens, used to bless those who are about to be baptized; the oil of chrism that is used in the Sacrament of Baptism, the Sacrament of Confirmation and the Sacrament of Holy Orders; and the oil of the sick which is used in the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick. Priests and deacons from throughout the diocese will take the oil to their parishes for use throughout the year.

Thursday, April 1 – Holy Thursday

7 p.m. – Mass of the Lord’s Supper; Bishop Kmiec, celebrant.

Adoration until 10 p.m. in the Lady Chapel.

Friday, April 2 – Good Friday

Noon – Solemn celebration of the Lord’s Passion; Bishop Kmiec, celebrant.

3 p.m. – Stations of the Cross

7 p.m. – Choral Concert of sacred music

Saturday, April 3 – Holy Saturday

8 p.m. – The Easter Vigil; Bishop Kmiec, celebrant.

Sunday, April 4 – Easter Sunday

8 a.m. – Mass for Easter Day

10:30 a.m. – Solemn Mass for Easter; Bishop Kmiec, celebrant.
