Aug2 School plan focuses on academics, financial stability

The Department of Catholic Schools strategic plan identifies key actions and goals for the transformation of Catholic elementary schools. Key areas of the document, “Faith in Tomorrow,” include Catholic identity, organizational structure and leadership, finances, academic excellence, marketing and communications, facilities and transportation, and health and human services.

Jul26 Holy Angels Academy to open new middle school

Holy Angels Academy will celebrate its 150th anniversary by giving birth to a middle school. The North Buffalo institution announced on June 7 that it will expand into teaching sixth, seventh and eighth grade girls under the name of Holy Angels Prep beginning September 2012.

Jun24 Notre Dame High School returns to Camden for Urban Challenge

On Easter Monday morning at 4:34, 15 Notre Dame students and three staff members boarded an Amtrak train in Buffalo bound for the Romero Center in Camden, N.J., for a five-day Urban Challenge program.

May4 Archbishop Walsh to offer new international curriculum

Archbishop Walsh Academy has just become a world-class school. The International Baccalaureate Organization has designated the Olean school as an IB World School authorized to offer the Diploma Programme in the fall of 2011. With this award, Walsh will be one of only 2 percent of the high schools in the United States certified to offer this program.
