Pope Francis Encyclical, Laudato Si: St. Francis, faithful to Scripture, invites us to see nature as a magnificent book in which God speaks to us and grants us a glimpse of his infinite beauty and goodness. "Through the greatness and the beauty of creatures one comes to know by analogy their maker" (Wis. 13:5); indeed, "his eternal power and divinity have been made known through his works since the creation of the world" (Rom. 1:20). Rather than a problem to be solved, the world is a joyful mystery to be contemplated with gladness and praise. Action: During this season of summer, be aware of the beauty that surrounds us, see beauty as a "magnificent book in which God speaks to us... " Ask yourself, Am I aware that this precious gift, Earth and all of creation, are a gift? Am I listening to God's Spirit within me to hear what God is asking me to do to care for all people and all creatures and all creation? Read Pope Francis' encyclical and hear what the Pope is asking us to do. (Find the encyclical at http://w2.vatican.va/content/francesco/en/encyclicals/documents/papa-francesco_20150524_enciclica-laudato-si.html or Google Vatican encyclical environment English).

Journey Into Love. The Office of Family Life Ministries is looking for married couples to assist with the monthly diocesan marriage preparation program, Journey Into Love. USCCB-Word of Life: "In a special way, believers in Christ must defend and promote this right, aware as they are of the wonderful truth recalled by the Second Vatican Council: 'By his incarnation the Son of God has united himself in some fashion with every human being.'" Pope Saint John Paul II, Evangelium Vitae, no. 2.
Papa San Juan Pablo II, Evangelium Vitae, no. 2.
Bereavement Packet. St. Paul reminds us in his letter to the Romans of many comforting words. During times of loss, loneliness and grief, we may not feel or recognize God's presence in our lives. Though we can't imagine all the thoughts and feelings you are experiencing right now, we do understand a bit about grieving and that, first of all, it is a process. The Office of Family Life Ministries has a free bereavement packet of materials designed to provide support, especially during the initial stages of grief. For a bereavement packet, please call 716-847-2210 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Marriage Moment. Reinventing date night. Novelty is more important than just doing the familiar. Dinner, a movie, the usual aren't bad, but often a quirky, weird date can bring pleasure because it's different. Take turns surprising each other.
Parenting Perspective. Have a memory party. Pull out old photographs or songs from your youth. Enjoy. Maybe even organize those loose photos or digital files.
