Advent is the time of year when we prepare our hearts and minds for the coming of the Lord's birth on Christmas, and there are many things we can do to ready ourselves. We can attend daily Mass, pray or use an Advent wreath. Even watching special programing can help put our minds and hearts in the right place.

Saturday, Dec. 9, at 6:30 a.m., on WKBW-TV Ch. 7 - "Our Daily Bread": Host Father Paul D. Seil will be talking about the season of Advent with Father Jack Ledwon, pastor of St. Joseph University Parish. Together they will make root of Jesse stew, quinoa salad and green salad with Blueberries and blueberry dressing.

Sunday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m., on WKBW-TV Ch. 7 -"Building a Basilica": The national award-winning hourlong documentary about how Father Nelson Baker envisioned, and architect Emile Ulrich designed, Our Lady of Victory Basilica and National Shrine.

Sunday, Dec. 17, at 1 p.m., and Monday, Dec. 25, at 11 p.m., on WKBW-TV Ch. 7 - "Stories for Christmas": This show will feature uplifting stories from people in our community who make a difference Bishop Richard J. Malone, Father Seil and friends help to spread the Christmas message.

Sunday, Dec. 24, at 7:30 a.m., on Fox 29, Sunday Televised Mass - Bishop Malone celebrates the fourth Sunday of Advent in the Our Lady Chapel of St. Joseph Cathedral.

Sunday, Dec. 25, at 6 a.m., on WKBW-TV Ch. 7 - "Come Let Us Adore Him Christmas Mass": This hourlong Mass aired nationally on ABC-TV affiliates in 2016. Bishop Malone celebrates Mass with the "Gloria Deo Chorus" in the Our Lady Help of Christians Historic Chapel and Shrine in Cheektowaga.

From all of us at Daybreak TV Productions, we wish you a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year!
