Permanent Deacon brings special ministry to people in hospital

For many priests and permanent deacons, hospital ministry is an important part of their ministry to their community. It is true for Deacon Charles D. Esposito, who was ordained June 2014. While serving parishioners at SS. Peter & Paul Parish in Williamsville, he also ministers to patients and their families at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Williamsville.

Father Mark Itua, temporary parochial vicar at Queen of Martyrs Parish in Cheektowaga, came to the Diocese of Buffalo about seven months ago based on a friend's recommendation, which is not unusual. Unlike most other priests in the area, he was born and raised in Nigeria and came to the United States as an adult after being ordained.
